Prince Andrew’s pal responds to bombshell TV series with late Queen’s famous 3-word remark
EXCLUSIVE: Friends of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have used the late Queen's famous "recollections may vary" phrase as the couple raise eyebrows over their depiction in A Very Royal Scandal.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are said to be “deeply disappointed” over the portrayal of the York family in ‘A Very Royal Scandal’.
In the Amazon Prime drama, which aired on September 19, Andrew has been portrayed as a rather sinister character while his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson comes across as a “thin-skinned lush”.
According to an extremely well-placed source, friends of Andrew and Sarah have used the late Queen’s famous “recollections may vary” phrase as the couple raise eyebrows over their depiction in the series.
“Andrew and Sarah are deeply disappointed by the entire family’s portrayal in the series,” said the source. “Recollections may vary is an understatement to describe what has been portrayed from behind the scenes of the interview.
“There are some instances where there hasn’t been a fair representation of what actually happened while other scenarios don’t ring any bells at all.”
Viewers have seen a very different side to the King’s brother, 64, in ‘A Very Royal Scandal’ than what was depicted in Netflix’s ‘Scoop’.
The show portrays the events surrounding the disgraced Duke’s infamous BBC Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis in 2019.
The three-part series has been made with Maitlis’s input and stars Michael Sheen as the royal and Ruth Wilson playing the woman who interrogated him.
Prince Andrew has been portrayed as a much more sinister figure than in Scoop.
