Three words describing Kate Middleton as a child speak volumes about princess
Someone who knew Kate Middleton when she was a child summed her up in three simple words and it speaks volumes about her character and the success she has had in the Royal Family
Since officially joining the Royal Family upon her marriage to Prince William, Princess Kate has enjoyed pretty enviable popularity ratings. Royal fans pore over her every look – from the sporty chic outfits she dons for more casual engagements to her high-glamour couture pieces – and when she announced in a touching video message that she has been undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy last March, support poured in for the future Queen from across the globe.
Kate’s commitment to her three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – has also been reflected in the causes she has dedicated herself to through her royal work, namely working to improve early years development across the UK. A hands-on parent, Kate’s relatively normal, middle-class upbringing is said to have impacted her approach to her royal role, and her focus on her own family behind closed doors – and someone who knew her when she was a child summed up what she was like in her youth in three simple words, that speak volumes about who she has become as Princess of Wales.
Kate’s childhood Brownie pack leader, June Scutter, explained that even as a child, the future Queen had a chilled-out, down-to-earth attitude, and was just like all the other kids taking part in the group. As reported in Hello magazine, June used just three words to describe Kate, that summed up how she would later approach her high-profile royal role: “She was quite easy-going,” explained Scutter.
The Brownie pack leader added that Kate and her sister Pippa “were just ordinary children, nothing different from any others.” This normality, experts have claimed, has helped Kate enormously as she built a life inside the institution of the monarchy. William’s greatest wish has always been to build a ‘normal’ happy family, and in Kate he found the perfect partner,” royal expert Duncan Larcombe said to OK magazine. “Her character and personality were defined by her own upbringing – the strength of her mother, the support and steadiness of her father and her relationship with her brother and sister.”
Royal expert – author and journalist Katie Nicholl – has previously echoed these sentiments, noting that the active role of Kate’s mother Carole has helped the Prince and Princess of Wales keep a sense of normality in their home for their three children. “One of the things that allows William and Kate to be so ordinary is the presence of the Middletons in their lives…[Carole] turns up to help with bedtime and bath time. She is absolutely indispensable,” the expert said.
