A dog owner from Alabama filmed her rescue dog’s reaction to her husband coming home, and internet users cannot cope with it.
In a viral TikTok video shared on Tuesday under the username @momma..b, the puppy, Daisy, can be seen relaxing in the living room, surrounded by blankets and toys, when all of a sudden she hears her dad pull up into the driveway.
As soon as she senses his presence, she sits right by the door waiting for him to finally come in and snuggle with her.
“My husband and the rescue pup he said we couldn’t keep. She just heard him pull up… She gets so excited whenever he comes home… No matter if he has only been gone 10 [minutes],” reads the layover text in the clip.
When her dad finally gets through the door, Daisy can’t control herself, running all around him excitedly, as if she hasn’t seen him in ages.
The caption reads: “Rescue pups are the best… especially once they realize that are safe, protected and loved…. This little precious soul owns us.”
Daisy clearly has a favorite human, and she is not the only dog that does. In fact, for our fur babies, it’s pretty common to have a number one human to look up to, and it is not always their primary caregiver.
Their favorite person can be anyone who spends time with them, their walker, their grandma, or even just a friend. But how can you tell?
In an article previously published by Newsweek, Kait Hembree, veterinary behavior nurse and head of training and behavior specialist at GoodPup, said that when you have that special place in your pup’s heart, they will do anything to be near you.
They will also wiggle their tail; keep soft eye contact with you; rub their face on you; and generally show signs that they feel comfortable and relaxed around you.
What if they display this behavior with multiple people? Then, according to an article by Georgia-based veterinarian Jess Kirk in Vet Explains Pets, it’s probably because they have multiple favorites.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 3.3 million views and 473,900 likes on the platform.
One user, Darb, commented: “Zoomies with the parking break on are my absolute favorite.”
Maryesther said: “You cannot watch this and not smile.”
Tryingmybest added: “You hit the pup jackpot!”
