Prince Harry’s subtle ‘apology’ signal to Prince William and King Charles uncovered

Prince Harry has made a subtle apology to the Royal Family for his swipes at them with one of his latest moves, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex railed against his royal relatives in his bombshell book, Spare, which was released in January 2023 and prompted an explosive fallout, with many predicting his relationship with the royals would never be the same again.

In the tell-all tome, the made various claims against his family including that Prince William called his wife Meghan Markle ‘difficult’, ‘rude’ and ‘abrasive’ and pushed him into a dog bowl, that King Charles was jealous of the Prince and Princess of Wales and that Charles refused to allow Meghan to join her husband in Scotland as the late Queen was dying.

Next month, a paperback version of Spare is due to hit shelves. Usually, when a paperback version of a non-fiction book is released, additional chapters or updated information is included in the new format.

However, the paperback version of Spare will not contain any new information. It will have the same cover image in a newly designed package, however, the “contents of the book are unchanged”. It has also been claimed that Harry will give no interviews or take part in any new publicity for the re-release.

And according to former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole, the decision not to update the new version of the book could be a “peace feeler”. He told GB News: “The paperback edition of Spare is coming out and he has decided he’s not going to update it in any sort of way, which they sometimes do.

“I think the contract obviously included a paperback edition, but he hasn’t added new chapters or written a preface or afterword to increase and renew the anguish which he has caused his family by these revelations. He continued: “He won’t be promoting it. I think that is a bit of a peace feeler. It’s a bit of a token. Maybe it’s his way of saying, ‘Im very sorry – I would like to be forgiven a bit’.”

It comes as sources close to Harry have claimed he has “no interest” in returning to resume royal duties in Britain and plans to stay in the US. The Duke of Sussex was reportedly linked with a return to the UK nearly five years after he and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their roles as royals and moved to California with their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
