Prince William’s frank advice about Meghan that Prince Harry dismissed as ‘snobbery’

The relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry broke down after William issued frank dating advice about Meghan Markle to Harry, according to the biography ‘Finding Freedom’.

The book charts the deteriorating relationships between the Sussexes and the now Prince and Princess of Wales, ultimately leading to the couple’s departure from royal duties.

‘Finding Freedom’ written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand stated the brothers had always attracted people who wanted to take advantage of them, and that William had always been deeply protective of his brother, as stated in Business Insider.

When Prince Harry began dating the Suits TV actress, Meghan Markle, he issued words of advice, as claimed in the book. Sources told the book’s authors that William said: “Take as much time as you need to get to know this girl.”

However, a family friend stated Harry detected snobbery and explained: “Harry could see through William’s words. He was being a snob.”

According to the extract in the book, the formerly solid connection between the two brothers began to break down after William urged Harry to take it slowly with Meghan.

Another source was quoted as saying: “William didn’t know a whole lot about Meghan, he wanted to make sure Harry wasn’t blindsided by lust.”

Tensions were worsened in part because of gossip within the family, with one senior royal also dubbing Meghan “Harry’s showgirl,” according to the book.

The book claimed two months after the conversation, the brothers barely spoke and the even visited each other’s homes less often.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the full romantic story of the night they got engaged in their docuseries titled ‘Harry & Meghan’ but also claimed her engagement interview was “rehearsed”.

After the first three episodes of Harry & Meghan debuted on Netflix, journalist Mishal Husain, who conducted the interview for the BBC, hit out at the Duchess’ claim. Appearing on BBC’s Today programme, she said: “We know recollections may vary on this particular subject but my recollection is definitely very much, asked to do an interview, and do said interview.”
