Prince William’s awkward diary clash with Prince Harry after brutal Coronation revelation
Warring brothers Prince William and Prince Harry may both be visiting New York City next month for separate engagements, but there is little chance of them meeting in the Big Apple
Prince William has a potential diary clash looming as he and his brother will both be in New York City after it was claimed the heir would not want Harry at his crowning moment.
The Duke of Sussex is due to make a solo trip to the city next month at the same time his older brother is in town for the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit . It seems unlikely the pair will meet up as they have reportedly not spoken since the Queen’s funeral in September 2022.
Should their paths cross however they can talk about how William is said to have no interest in his brother attending his coronation in the event of the King’s death in the future. Earlier this month the Sunday Times reported William is unlikely to forgive his younger brother any time soon for his digs against wife Kate in Spare with friends telling the newspaper as things stand, the Prince of Wales would not want Harry at his Coronation.
One friend said: “They are estranged, which is dreadfully sad.” Another added how Harry rarely comes up in conversation with William and explained: “This year his focus has very much been on his wife, his children and his father.” Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond also believes it is unlikely Harry and Meghan would be at the ceremony. She told OK! Magazine : “I agree the rift between William and Harry looks unbridgeable.
“You can only go to a coronation if you are invited and, at this stage, I suspect Harry would not be invited. However, that day is hopefully someway away and it’s possible that William’s attitude may have softened somewhat by then. I don’t think William wastes any of his life thinking about his brother, though we know that Harry has said he would like to have some kind of reconciliation. But this would presumably be on his own terms.”
Prince William attended the summit last year and this year’s date coincides with his children Prince George , Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, returning to school after the summer holidays. However, it remains uncertain whether William will attend in person.
Harry’s New York visit was announced on August 27 and will coincide with the UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week. During his stay, Harry will ‘advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives’, according to a spokesperson, and participate in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst. He will also promote the work of The Archewell Foundation, the non-profit organisation he co-founded with Meghan.
