Prince William shares his heartbreaking view on homelessness in a TV documentary tonight.
The Prince of Wales says: “I don’t believe we should be living with homelessness in the 21st century” in his programme, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness. It first airs at 9pm tonight on ITV1 and concludes at the same time on Thursday.
Prince William: We Can End Homelessness will then be streamed globally, the second Prince of Wales TV show to do so after his five-part series on The Earthshot Prize in 2021 on Discovery Plus.
It means William, 42, will pit himself against brother Prince Harry, who has also done several global shows, including Netflix’s sixpart Harry And Meghan, and Heart Of Invictus. Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43, signed a private commercial deal with Netflix for this in 2020 and the programme’s opener was the most-watched premiere for a show on that platform in 2022 in the United Kingdom.
But William’s documentary explores the issue of homelessness, an issue which he says he is driven to tackle following criticism about his privileged lifestyle and many residences.
In the programme, the Prince releases unseen pictures of him with mother Diana, at a homeless shelter — and mentions Harry by name for the first time in six years.
