Prince William hilariously reveals his favourite emoji – and nobody would ever have guessed it
The Royals, it seems, are just like us when it comes to texting, as Prince William hilariously revealed his favourite emoji – and nobody would have ever have guessed it.
When quizzed about his favourite emoji on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Going Home’, Prince William playfully asked: “Is this a clean thing or is this a family one?” He went on to say: “I’ve been told not to say the aubergine, so I’ve got to pick something else. It would have been the aubergine, but I’m saying now – because I’ve got to be all grown up – it’s the one where the eyes go up and down and the mouth’s out”.
The Prince’s answer sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with Royal enthusiasts noting the suggestive nature of the aubergine emoji – known for its phallic resemblance – often used as a euphemistic icon in saucy text exchanges. Alongside Prince William was his wife Kate, who revealed her favourite emoji to be a less provocative choice: “The heart with then the crying emoji.”
The Princess of Wales explained, “The sort of like ‘hysterical laughing’ when things have gone wrong.”
The pair continued to divulge some lesser-known aspects of their personal lives, engaging in conversation with Radio 1 show hosts Jordan North and Vick Hope, during a forum in Birmingham to commemorate World Mental Health Day.
Kate spilled the beans on their dinner plans, revealing: “Curry or teriyaki or salmon”, whereas Prince William confessed: “I can’t do too much spice. I start sweating. It’s not attractive. [Kate] has to bring it in gently because otherwise, I get too sweaty. It’s not a nice sight.”
