Exact date Prince Harry to return to UK revealed – days after King Charles’ surprise move
It has been revealed that Prince Harry is set to visit the UK in a matter of just weeks for an extremely poignant event with the announcement coming just days after the royals sent him 40th birthday wishes
The date of Prince Harry’s next visit to the UK has been revealed – and it’s for an extremely poignant event very soon.
It has been confirmed that in his role of patron of the WellChild charity, he will be attending its annual awards ceremony in London later this month on September 30. Harry has been a patron of the charity for 16 years, which supports seriously ill children and their families.
He is a regular at their annual awards ceremony, attending last year, and this year will present one of the inspirational winners with their awards and also deliver a speech. He said: “I am once again honoured to attend this year’s WellChild Awards celebrating the remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs.
“These incredible young people, along with the dedicated caregivers, nurses, and professionals who tirelessly support them, inspire us all. It is a true privilege to recognise such extraordinary individuals.”
Confirmation Harry will be in London for the awards comes just days after his 40th birthday, which saw his estranged royal relatives’ official social media accounts send him best wishes. The message, especially the one from his estranged father King Charles has been seen as an olive branch from him over their feud.
And with Harry due in the UK within the next few weeks, many will be wondering if they will take the time to meet up with sources saying Charles is keen to have a better relationship with his son.
A source told the Mirror: “Much has been said over the fractured nature of the Duke’s relationship with his family and much of his own doing. He is open to reconciliation as is the King. The King’s health, his upcoming autumn tour to Australia and the next chapter of his reign are his main focus, but there is always room to improve relations with his son.”
Harry was last in the UK several weeks ago to attend the funeral of his late uncle Lord Robert Fellowes, the husband of Princess Diana’s sister Lady Jane Fellowes. On that occasion, he did not meet up with his dad, although the event was also attended by Prince William – but the two warring brothers are said not to have spoken to each other.
