Prince William Has Become Like a Brother With This Royal

The Windsors experienced an outpouring of support amid Kate Middleton and King Charles’s cancer diagnosis last year, with royals like Princess Beatrice, Princess Anne, Duchess Sophie, and Prince Edward stepping up to the plate to help take on the extra royal engagements and appearances. While Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, has reportedly become a “mentor” and confidante for Kate as she navigates her return to royal duties, Prince William also reportedly has a surprising royal in his corner who’s become like a brother to him.

William, who’s still estranged from Prince Harry, has gotten close to Mike Tindall in recent months–to the point where an insider says the former rugby player has become like a brother to William. “Mike’s become a key figure in William’s world and someone he can always rely on,” an inside source told Woman’s Day magazine, per Express. Mike, who’s the husband of William’s cousin Zara Tindall, has rallied around the senior royals and even given the heir-to-the-throne a hilarious nickname: “One Pint Willy.”

“There’s no doubt Wills sees him as the brother he lost. He’s proven how loyal he is and Wills knows Mike has his back. He’s so grateful to have him by his side,” the insider added.

Mike previously shed some light on his playful dynamic with William and revealed his very un-royal nickname for him while making an appearance on the late rugby player Rob Burrow’s “Seven” podcast last year.

“For the Prince of Wales, he is known as One Pint Willy,” he revealed, explaining, “He is known to me as One Pint Willy, because he is not the best of drinkers, coming from a sport where it is built on the social aspect and a couple of beers being sunk quite often. That is one I will definitely give away for the Prince of Wales.”
