Prince William and Prince Harry shared devastating joke at royal funeral

Prince Harry and Prince William have a strained sibling relationship but they still come together for important moments for the Royal Family.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, returned to British soil this week to secretly attend his uncle’s funeral in Norfolk. Lord Robert Fellowes, who was married to the late Princess Diana’s sister, Lady Jane, passed away aged 82 last month and his funeral was held on Thursday. William was also present, with the warring siblings said to have been ‘discreet’ with one another.
t’s not the first time Harry has flown to the UK for a funeral since he quit life as a working royal in 2020. Two years later, he travelled back to pay his respects to his beloved grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. As the two brothers prepared to take part in the state funeral, they even managed to share a devastating joke amid their grief.
In an interview to promote his bestselling memoir, Spare, Harry revealed the small moment of humour he and William shared. Speaking to ITV’s Tom Bradby, Harry explained that as the brothers prepared to walk behind their grandmother’s funeral, they both were tragically reminded of when they had done the same for their mother over 20 years before.
“Just recently my brother and I were walking the same route, and we sort of joked to each other and said, ‘At least we know the way’,” Harry explained, adding: “But otherwise, it was very similar. The only difference was the levels of emotion.
“Because our grandmother had finished life. There was more, I think, of a celebration and respect and recognition to what she had accomplished. Whereas our mother was taken away far too young.”
