Prince Harry ‘not thinking about Meghan Markle’ as he continues to ‘have fun’ in solo appearances
Prince Harry has recently attended a handful of events without Meghan Markle, and a body language expert has claimed he seems more relaxed at engagements when he is not with his wife. On Sunday 17 November, Harry made a solo appearance in Vancouver as he met school students while preparing to launch a new programme ahead of the Invictus Games next year, leaving Meghan at home with their children in California. Expert Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Slingo, believed the prince showed an “unparalleled height of happiness” while at the event.
He continued: “He’s completely relaxed and focused on what needs to be done. He can focus on being himself and on interacting with those around him.”
Darren believes the reason behind Harry’s happier demeanour is that “with Meghan, his attention is always on her during their joint engagements, making sure that she is OK. Here, we tend to see more of his protective nature than his individual emotion as he puts Meghan’s feelings above his own.”
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, speaking exclusively to OK!, agrees that Harry’s concern for his wife could be the reason that he may seem to behave differently when he is on an engagement alone.
“I think we all act rather differently when we are with our partners,” she says. “In Harry’s case, I think he is always protective of Meghan and wants people to like her. So he steps back and lets her shine in the limelight. She is also a very strong and independent woman who has her voice and wants to use it, which is fair enough.”
