Old family wounds could be healing if Prince Harry’s latest career move is anything to go by as it appears he could have ‘moved on’ from any previous royal rift. nIt was reported that The Duke of Sussex has decided not to include any new details in the paperback edition of his book, Spare, and won’t be doing any up-to-date interviews in order to promote it – and now a royal expert has said it could be his way of “moving on from all the bitterness.”
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclusively told OK!: “I don’t think he will be particularly upset about this. He made an awful lot of money from the original contract and, whatever he says, he is already a very wealthy man.
“I don’t think his decision to write Spare was ever a predominantly financial decision. I think he really wanted the world to know how he felt about his life, his family and the way he felt the Palace treated him. I think he has made a conscious decision to move on from all the bitterness and had no interest in dredging up more stories for the paperback. That has to be a good decision for everyone involved.”
The original version of Spare sold more than 700,000 copies in the UK alone and was reported to sell over six million copies across print and audio formats worldwide, while the paperback version sold just 3,000 copies in its second week.
The news of Harry having “no interest in dredging up more stories” comes after his and Meghan’s decision to purchase a property in Portugal. This has reportedly been seen as the ultimate symbol that the couple wish to integrate some parts of the European way of life in their children’s futures. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have spent very little time in the UK, despite being sixth and seventh in line to the throne, and, as a result, have not spent much time with their royal cousins.
