King Charles’s One Birthday Wish Is So Heartbreaking
It's probably the one thing that he might not be able to get.
King Charles is celebrating his 76th birthday on November 14—even though the summer’s Trooping the Colour is technically a celebration for his big day—and according to palace insiders, the one thing that the king wants is the one thing he might not be able to get. Of course, it’s not anything material, because the King of England may just be the man who has it all. Instead, a source told the Irish Star that all Charles really wants is for his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, to put their feud aside and be the bros he knows they can be.
“King Charles has been through an awful lot since becoming king, and has been gallant in carrying out his duties while facing his own health woes as he announced he had cancer earlier this year,” an insider shared. “Now he wants nothing more than to make memories with his wife, sons, and grandchildren. This is what he will treasure the most—especially as his milestone birthday approaches.”
They continued, saying that since he’s been faced with cancer and had time to reflect on the family drama, Charles has seen how important forgiveness can be. In addition to introspection, multiple outlets have reported that Charles has been leaning more on his faith.
“Since inheriting the crown, he has spent more time exploring theologies and the teaching of their central tenets including the nature of forgiveness,” the insider added.
According to the Daily Mail, sources said that Charles has gained “spiritual nourishment” from conversations with church officials.
“Faith has always been a part of Charles’s life and something he’s explored, but since becoming King it is playing a more central role,” they said. “That reliance on faith and quiet contemplation has become a comfort and asset to him and helps him cope with the role as he adapts to being king. King Charles wants nothing more than peace to be restored in his family. He wants to draw a line under their past feuds and for Prince William and Prince Harry to get along.”
It’s still unclear whether or not Harry and his family will make a trip to the U.K. to celebrate with Charles. However, knowing Harry is still ironing out things with the security detail in his home country, royal fans aren’t holding their breath for a family reunion.
