A cat owner brought a new feline home to her seven cats, and their hilarious reaction to the new family member has left social media viewers laughing.
In a viral TikTok video shared in October under the username @jiaotasd99732, the new cat can be seen getting out of his carrier, ready to meet his new siblings. But they don’t seem to be ready to meet him just yet.
As the new arrival stands near the door, the other cats keep staring at him with their eyes wide open. One even turned to look at the others, as if wondering what the new feline was doing in their home.
“When you bring home a new cat, your cats be like,” reads the layover text in the clip. The caption says: “Guys are astonished.”
Cat introductions very much depend on felines’ unique personalities, but you can help them accept one another easily by ensuring you give them as much time and space as they need.
VCA Animal Hospitals says that introductions should be gradual and conducted in a way that makes all the cats involved feel safe. Before bringing the new cat home, set up separate areas with everything they might need, including food and litter.
Once the cats are comfortable in their environment, it’s time to do a “location swap,” allowing them to sniff each other’s space without direct interaction. Only when they are familiar with the new smell should you allow them to meet face-to-face.
Their interactions should always be supervised until you are sure that the cats are ready to live together peacefully.
Georgia-based veterinarian Jess Kirk says in an article on the Vet Explains Pets website that pheromone diffusers can help create a calming environment for the cats and reduce stress, which is common during this process.

One user, Missy, commented: “The concern on their face hahahah.”
