Meghan Markle blows Prince Harry’s Netflix show out the water | Royal | News
Meghan Markle‘s new Netflix show has already managed to outperform Prince Harry‘s previous projects with the streaming giant without even airing yet – the latest figures have shown.
The Duchess of Sussex appeared in a new trailer last week for her long-awaited show With Love, Meghan, which is set to hit the screens on January 15.
Meghan was seen smiling in the trailer as she invited friends and famous guests – including actresses Mindy Kaling and Suits star Abigail Spencer – to a California estate, where she will share cooking, gardening and hosting tips.
The trailer dropped last Thursday – just a day after Meghan’s return to Instagram for the first time since her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
And it looks like, in just five days, she managed to outperform Prince Harry‘s figures from two of his shows – one of which dropped last month and the second one last year.
With Love, Meghan’s official trailer has amassed a total of 1.2million views on YouTube, 14,000 likes and generated 41,300 comments in its first week of release at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry‘s trailer for his show Polo – released last month – gathered just 195,000 views, 1,400 likes and 3,800 comments during a month.
The trailer of his previous show, Heart of Invictus, released in August 2023, only gathered 214,000 views, 3,100 likes and 6,200 comments.
Meghan’s new trailer appeared to be one the most popular on the streaming giant’s YouTube recently, only being beaten by the Night Agent: Season 2, which was released two weeks ago and gathered 1.5million views and Squid Game: Season 2, which was released last November and was watched a whooping 14million times.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s trailer for their bombshell docuseries, Harry & Meghan, remains the best performing one on Netflix‘s Youtube with 3.4million views. Hwever, it was released over two years ago.
A promotional synopsis of Meghan’s new show said: “This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-tos and candid conversation with friends, new and old.
“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.
“She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”
