Kate Middleton and Prince William’s strict rule for the sake of their three children

The Prince and Princess of Wales do everything they can to ensure their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are healthy and happy.

Kate Middleton and Prince William are said to have implemented various strategies over the years to help them balance their royal duties along with their obligations as parents, and a report has claimed that they keep up one strict rule in particular to ensure their children’s well-being. The rule in question reportedly helps the couple remain present in their children’s lives, and they will only break it when it is absolutely necessary or unavoidable.

As reported in The Express when travelling overseas, Kate and William endeavour to go one at a time, to ensure one of them is at home with their kids during key times. “It has been reported and is evident in some recent trips, that Kate and William like to ensure that at least one of them is home with George, Charlotte, and Louis. Apart from when they’re committed to being on an official Royal Tour, the couple wish for their three children’s lives to remain uninterrupted,” the newspaper claimed.

For instance, when Prince William visited Singapore last Autumn for the Earthshot Prize Awards, Kate stayed at home with the three Wales children, reportedly because Prince George had just endured some crucial school tests the same week. However, the pair have travelled together when officially representing the crown on overseas tours on many occasions, including to Pakistan in 2019 and the Caribbean in 2021.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam said to The Express the couple are keen to keep their children out of the bright spotlight that is trained on the monarchy as much as possible whilst they are young, noting that the couple “are wisely concerned at any overexposure of [George] and of Charlotte and Louis.” The expert added that George in particular will be subject to the most scrutiny as he grows up, given his position as second-in-line to the throne, “Whether as Page of Honour at the Coronation or blowing bubbles on a visit to Canada, whatever he does, as he is the future King, is of interest. We are fed titbits, that George enjoys dancing, plays tennis, or likes a pizza, and we get regular photographs of him on special occasions and see him at certain royal events.”
