King Charles’ one source of comfort during ‘testing’ cancer treatment revealed

King Charles is determined to return to work duties with “renewed vigour” after a “testing” first chapter in his reign, it has been revealed.

Charles has faced tough personal challenges since becoming King, grappling with his own cancer diagnosis as well as supporting Princess Kate through hers, all while navigating a fraught relationship with his youngest son Prince Harry.

And as Charles marks the sombre two-year anniversay of his mother Queen Elizabeth’s death, he has told aides he wants to “make up for lost time” and solidify his own legacy.

The King is set to undertake an autumn tour as part of his big return to work duties amid his cancer treatment, visiting Australia and Samoa next month.

Sources close to the monarch say he’s ready for the “second chapter” of his reign – and his unwavering positivity in the face of adversity has been inspired by one “comfort and strength”.

Those close to him say he’s been incredibly moved by the kindness and support shown by the public since sharing his cancer diagnosis in February. One source said: “It’s fair to say this has been a pretty testing time for the King and other members of his family. Any plans he may have had in the initial stages of his reign have had to be redrawn and adapted but he has taken it all in his stride.”

They added: “Through all the trials and tribulations the King has had to deal with this year, for himself and his family, I’ve never seen a person so positive and upbeat about the future. Even though he has been receiving regular hospital treatment, having to adapt his diary and way of working for a time this year, he never once felt sorry for himself or bemoaned his situation.

“If anything he wants to use it as a positive to help other people and raise awareness. That is at the heart of why he chose to be so candid.”
