In the most intimate video she’s ever released, the Princess of Wales revealed she has finished her course of chemotherapy treatment.
The deeply moving clip, released on Monday, shows Kate look up adoringly at husband Prince William as she rests her head on his shoulder, later laughing with him, holding hands and kissing each other.
The three-minute footage is packed with symbolism and carefully chosen imagery. There is a particular fovus on nature and family, as Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, are depicted at the centre of Kate and William’s world.
The Princess is looking to the future – hopeful that her darkest days are behind her. Nature symbolises that comfort, something to which mum-of-three Kate has referred before during her journey with cancer.
Will Warr, the couple’s favoured filmmaker, shot the video in Norfolk in August. He recorded laughter and playful scenes all around the topic of family, one of several key themes the Mirror has picked out from the clip.
The emotional video focuses heavily on nature. It is used as a symbol of comfort and hope and something very important to Kate and her family. The beautiful Norfolk setting offers a splendid autumnal backdrop to the family’s frolics.
The footage is framed carefully around this theme. Since her cancer diagnosis in January, the Princess has found sanctuary in the natural world and is keen to reflect its importance. She has previously spoken of “the power of nature” in maintaining both physical and mental health.
