Prince Harry’s cryptic statement on ‘fresh perspective’ as painful feud rumbles on

Prince Harry has talked about his “fresh perspective” on life as his 40th birthday fast approaches.

The Duke of Sussex reaches his landmark birthday on Sunday with life looking very different for him compared to 10 years ago when he turned 30. In the past decade, he’s married wife, Meghan Markle, quit his royal role, moved to the United States and become a father to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

His big birthday also comes amid a long rift between him his father King Charles and brother Prince William, with Harry reportedly having little contact with them and feud seemingly rumbling on.

Now, in a statement given to the BBC by his spokesperson, Harry has talked about the different place he is in ahead of turning 40. And he cryptically mused: “Becoming a father of two incredibly kind and funny kids has given me a fresh perspective on life, as well as sharpening my focus in all my work. Being a dad is one of life’s greatest joys and has only made me more driven and more committed to making this world a better place.”

Meanwhile, he also added: “I was anxious about 30, I’m excited about 40. Whatever the age, my mission is to continue showing up and doing good in the world.” According to one report, Harry will be celebrating his birthday this weekend with a ‘lads’ getaway.

The Sun reports that Harry will head off on the trip with some of his “closest pals” after marking his day – but Meghan will be staying at home with their two children.

It is not known exactly where the duke’s trip will be, however, PEOPLE magazine, a chosen publication of the Sussexes, said that Harry would be have a “gathering of close friends internationally”. Pals he is known to be still close to include his polo-playing confidante Nacho Figueras. In previous years, Harry enjoyed several raucous trips away with friends including an infamous holiday to Las Vegas back in 2012, when he was pictured partying hard in ‘Sin City’.
