Camilla’s friend reveals what Queen really thinks about King Charles’s busy workload

Despite being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, King Charles shows little sign of slowing down even though he’s still undergoing gruelling cancer treatment.

The monarch made a touching visit to Southport earlier this week and has made several public appearances in the past month despite being on an official summer break at Balmoral.

Now, one of Queen Camilla’s acquaintances has revealed that Her Majesty and senior palace aides are concerned that the sovereign could be on course for burnout with his packed schedule harming his chances of making a full recovery in his cancer battle.

Queen Camilla has previously voiced her concerns, publicly telling well-wishers she wants Charles to “behave” and “slow down,” but her semi-jocular tone on these occasions seems to mask real concern in private about her husband’s reluctance to prioritise his convalescence.

A friend of Queen Camilla’s told the Daily Beast: “Camilla would have been deeply unhappy that having only begun his holiday on Monday, he broke it off on Tuesday to do an incredibly intense engagement.

“Of course, she understands it was very important and there is no way she would try to tell Charles what to do, but it seems to be extraordinary timing.

“She wants him to slow down, she is afraid he is working too hard, and that’s before you even get to the Australia tour.”

Express.co.uk exclusively revealed in June that Palace officials were laying the groundwork for the King’s attendance at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October and a tour of Australia.

The 27th CHOGM will be the first under the King’s reign. CHOGM consists of 56 member countries from across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Pacific and will be the first time the high-level meeting will be hosted by a small island state in Samoa.
