Brit killed in New Orleans attack is stepson of Prince William and Prince Harry’s famous nanny
Edward Pettifer, a 31 year old British man from Chelsea, west London, was tragically killed in the New Orleans terror attack on New Year’s Day. Edward, known as Ed to his loved ones, was the stepson of Prince William and Harry’s former nanny, Tiggy Legge-Bourke. His father, Charles Pettifer, a former Coldstream Guards officer, married Tiggy after his relationship ended with Ed’s mother, Camilla Wyatt, the daughter of a racehorse breeder. Ed, who is believed to have attended the prestigious Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, lived in Chelsea with his mum and younger brother, Harry, 29.
Ms Legge-Bourke, who reportedly offered valuable support to William and Harry after the sudden and tragic death of their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, and was nanny to the princes from 1993 until 1999, was also a godmother to Edward.
