Adorable hidden detail in Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis photo on huge day for UK
Princess Kate shared a sweet photograph of her youngest children cheering on England at the Euros final - and it contained a sweet hidden detail, according to a body language expert
Royal fans were delighted to see a candid snapshot of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis cheering on England in the Euros final last month. And it seems there was a lot more to the photo than met the eye.
The picture in question was taken by proud mum Princess Kate and showed her two youngest children fixated on the TV as they watched the football. The siblings could be seen wearing personalised England tops, complete with their names across the back, and their ages as player numbers. Prince George was absent at the time; he was watching the game live with Prince William in Germany.
While royal watchers are always delighted to see new photographs of the Wales children, this photo contained a hidden message, according to body language expert Judi James. She told the Sun: “One of the best things about the body language and construction of this adorable pose is that it doesn’t just show two young royals watching the Europa final. It shows two small fans sitting as hunched with tension and absorbed in every moment as the rest of the UK.
“The way Charlotte and Louis are leaning together with their eyes on the screen in a mirrored pose gives us a glimpse of the sibling unity, too.” Judi also noted that Louis had missed out on some fun outings earlier in the day; George spent the day in Germany ahead of the match, while Charlotte had joined mum Kate and aunt Pippa to watch the men’s finals at Wimbledon.
She wrote: “…Louis appeared to be kept on the subs bench at home while missing out on all the fun. But he’s clearly adoring sitting watching with his big sister here, as mutual fans of the game, wearing his personalised number 6 shirt before, sadly, also having a very early life lesson that England football tends to teach all of us, which is how to cope with disappointment.”
While Louis does clearly adores his sister, he has been known to push back against her demands on occasion. Charlotte, who takes on a protective role over her brothers, received a very cheeky response from Louis when she tried to keep him in check at Trooping the Colour in June, according to a lip reader.
The Princess of Wales and her three children watched the military display from a balcony at Horse Guards Parade. They stood together as the regiments, in red ceremonial dress, paraded past. Kate could be seen whispering in the ear of Charlotte as the band played, while delighted Louis danced along during the quick march of the Scots Guards to Highland Laddie. But it seemed to catch the ire of his older sister. According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, as Louis danced, Charlotte appeared to say: “You have to stop doing that. Watch the parade”, to which Louis replied: “I won’t”. In turn, Charlotte replied: “Do as you’re told” and Louis simply added: “Nope.”
