A Royal Family picnic – Charles and Camilla’s special day with grandchildren at Balmoral
EXCLUSIVE: Members of the Royal Family attended at a picnic organised on the banks of the River Muick which runs through the Balmoral estate.
King Charles and Queen Camilla have organised a riverside picnic for their children and grandchildren on the Balmoral estate, Express.co.uk has learned.
According to our well-placed source, Queen Camilla’s children Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes, along with their children accompanied the Prince and Princess of Wales, their children and other members of the Royal Family at a picnic organised on the banks of the River Muick which runs through the Balmoral estate.
Queen Camilla is a very proud grandmother of five. Her son, Tom Parker Bowles, has Lola, 16, and Freddy, 14, and her daughter, Laura Lopes, has Eliza, 16, and 14-year-old twins, Louis and Gus. All have been staying at Balmoral Castle recently.
Meanwhile, a stone’s throw from King Charles and Queen Camilla’s cottage, Birkhall, also close to the banks of the River Muick, is Prince William and Princess Kate’s cottage Tam-Na-Ghar, which was gifted to William by his late great-grandmother, the Queen Mother.
The couple are staying there with their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
“The King and Queen host it on the bank and everyone joins in the picnic which includes potato salad and salmon.
“All the children and grandchildren spend time together which is an important part of ensuring that the family remains close as they grow into their own throughout the years.”
Earlier today, August 25, Princess Kate was snapped on her way to Crathie Church on the Balmoral estate. The Princess of Wales looked in good spirits as she was driven to church by her husband, Prince William, sporting a tawny Holland Cooper full length marlborough trench coat topped off with a hat and feathers.
Other members of the Royal Family staying on the estate include the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their children Lady Louise Windsor, 19, and James, Earl of Wessex, 16.
Princess Anne and her husband Timothy Laurence have been joined by Mike and Zara Tindall and their three children, daughters Mia, 10, and Lena, 6, and son Lucas, 3, although they are expected to head off early as Zara has entered the Wellington International Horse Trials.
Peter Phillips is there with his daughters Savannah, 13, and Isla, 12, and the Duke and Duchess of York are also currently on the estate.
Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment.
