Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been blasted over one move five years after releasing a shock statement announcing their plans to step down as senior working royals.

The couple is known to have had a strained relationship with the media. Now, the Daily Mail’s royal editor, Rebecca English, blasted the couple over the issue on a recent Mail’s Palace Confidential episode last month.

Harry and Meghan, now based in the US, announced their plans to step down from the Firm on January 8, 2020.

Speaking on a show last month she claimed the couple wished to be people who shared things “on the record and [be] open”, Ms English said: “I would say that is exactly what they have not done. They have gone to, or people around them, briefing media outlets that they feel are going to be favourable to them [and] helping them with biographies.”

Speaking about how information on Harry’s ongoing court case was allegedly leaked to a newspaper that is “friendly to them” last month, she added: “There’s quite a bit of hypocrisy involved.”
