A dog’s way of interrupting its owner’s plan for a relaxing afternoon in the sun has left viewers on TikTok in stitches.
The Maltese dog, named Charly, was captured stealing his owner’s sunbathing spot, by parking himself firmly on her beach towel. Posted on January 4 under the username @charlythemaltese13, the short clip shows the owner ready to relax in her garden, only to find that her furry companion had already claimed the spot. The video, which has garnered more than 1.4 million views, puts the playful nature of the Maltese breed on full display.
The video, captioned “Went back inside to grab my book and when I came back someone stole my spot,” shows the Maltese dog comfortably settled on the beach towel that had been laid out in the garden by his owner.
The post has struck a chord with viewers on TikTok, who have shared similar pet anecdotes in the comments section.
“This would be mine too,” one viewer said. “My in-laws bought him a blanket to keep at their house just for him to sunbathe because he’s allergic to grass.”
Another added: “She said you should have brought the refreshments when you brought the towels.”
