Prince Harry has revealed that he has no intentions of moving his family back to the UK after their 2020 relocation to the US.
He further shared that his life in America, devoid of Royal duties, feels “as though it’s the life my mum wanted” for him. According to Harry, he, his wife Meghan Markle, and their two children Archie and Lilibet enjoy a certain level of privacy in the US, as well as a lifestyle filled with activities they “undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK” due to security issues.
Harry had previously taken legal action against the Home Office over the February 2020 decision by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of taxpayer-funded protection when in the country.
This decision led to a series of court proceedings where Harry fought for his protection to be restored, but his case was rejected by the High Court in February. Retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane concluded that Ravec’s approach was neither irrational nor procedurally unfair.
Although Harry’s initial appeal was refused after losing the High Court challenge over the decision, he can now take his case directly to the Court of Appeal.
