Kate Middleton’s latest high-profile move is especially ‘touching’ for King Charles
Kate Middleton’s upcoming appearance at a high profile event will leave King Charles feeling “very touched”, it has been claimed. The Princess of Wales, who made a significant return to her royal duties by joining other members of the royal family at the Cenotaph last month, is set to welcome the Emir of Qatar on his official state visit to the UK.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has opened up on how significant the engagement will be for the King and the Princess of Wales – both of whom were diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
“I’m sure the bond between Charles and Catherine has grown ever stronger during these long months of cancer treatment. They must sit down sometimes and compare notes and I think the King will be very touched that Catherine has chosen an important state occasion like this to make a high profile appearance,” she said.
And with the event being a significant return to her royal duties, Jennie adds that Kate’s appearance is credit to her commitment to the role. “It shows her dedication to the job she acquired on marriage, and to the monarchy,” she continued.
It comes after Kate, 42, marked a milestone return to duties last month when she joined other royals at the Cenotaph for the Remembrance Sunday service. The occasion marked the first time that the mum-of-three had carried out commitments across two consecutive days since she was diagnosed with cancer.
