Meghan Markle’s five-word veiled swipe about life away from Britain and the royals
Meghan Markle recently opened up about Christmas in California with Prince Harry and their two children. And some critics believe she made a swipe at the royal family as she spoke about their festive celebrations.
Meghan and Harry are expected to spend 25 December at their £12million Montecito home with Archie and Lilibet. The couple have lived in the States since March 2020, two months after they quit as senior royals.
Since then, their relationship with The Firm has completely broken down as a result of Harry and Meghan’s appearances in their Netflix series, their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, and the Duke’s tell-all memoir Spare.
Despite that, Meghan suggested they are happier than ever, telling Marie Claire that spending Christmas with her small family across the pond is one of her favourite times of the year.
Hinting at how she feels now, following her royal exit, Meghan said “every year it gets better” – particularly now her children are getting to the age where they understand what is going on.
She added that the family are “always pretty low-key” when it comes to major celebrations like Thanksgiving and Christmas, and will often spend it with her mother Doria Ragland.
