Prince Harry cheekily suggested he wanted a “lower back” or “a**” tattoo during a video with US music star Jelly Roll, as part of the hype for the upcoming Invictus Games in Canada. The playful exchange was filmed at East Side Ink, a New York tattoo parlour, where the country singer and rapper teased that the Duke of Sussex had agreed to get his first tattoo.
Shortly after, Jelly Roll, real name Jason Bradley DeFord, enters wearing black gloves. “Hey, hey. Tattoos. Speaking of, what’s up man?” the 39 year old singer greets the Royal. “I’m such a fan, dude,” Jelly Roll confesses while shaking Harry’s hand.
“Do you know I could not believe it when they called me and told Prince Harry wanted to get a tattoo today and he wanted me to give him his first tattoo?” The Prince then questions the Wild Ones hitmaker about his glove. “We’re giving you a tattoo about the Invictus Games,” Jelly Roll explains, reports The Mirror.
However, Harry clarifies that he didn’t visit the shop for new ink but to invite him to “do the Invictus Games”, scheduled for February in Vancouver. “There’s no tattoo in this. I can’t get a tattoo,” the Duke firmly states. Jelly Roll wasn’t about to back down. “I’ll play the Invictus Games,” he declared, “if you let me give you your first tattoo.” Harry responded with a shrug, saying, “Alright, screw it. Let’s go.”
He then pointed to his backside and asked, “Where do you want it? Here?” When Jelly Roll suggested a neck tattoo, Harry raised the bar. “I was thinking like, my lower back or my a**,” he proposed. “Nobody wants to see that,” the singer retorted, unimpressed.
